Farce: an absurd event, a comic and dramatic work using buffoonery and horseplay

That pretty much sums up what you'll see in Neil Simon's play Rumors, opening this Thursday, February 18th. The show takes place at a lovely townhouse, where four eccentric couples gather to celebrate their friends 10th Wedding Anniversary. But everything goes terribly wrong. The host of the party is bleeding and his wife is nowhere to be found. As chaos erupts and rumors are spread, the couples are left to try to sort it all out, and the evening becomes a giant disaster.

Andrew Anderson (Junior BFA) plays Lenny Ganz, one of the four husbands in the play. He says the most difficult thing about Rumors is pulling off the farcical nature of the play. "Every gesture is so big. It's physically and mentally exhausting every night after rehearsal is through. We have to have a massive amount of energy to make it work, but we have a great time."

And judging from some of these pictures, I think they can pull it off...

The show plays in the Ted Paul Theatre February 18th-20th and 25th-28th. Evening performances are at 7:30 PM with matinees at 2:00 PM on the 27th and 28th. I hope you'll join this talented cast for a couple hours of hilarity. After all, everyone can always use a good laugh. It's good for the soul.
