350 high-schoolers come to learn about the arts at MSU

Friday was a BUSY day in and around the Performing Arts Center at MSU. About 350 high school students from far and wide came to the building for the 31st annual High School Theatre and Dance Workshop. About 40 sessions were offered throughout the day for students to choose from, ranging from Broadway hip-hop, to stage painting techniques, to juggling, to tumbling, to stage combat.

The reviews are in, and apparently we here in the department are a BLAST to learn from. Way to go, team! : ) Here are a few fun moments from the day.

Erin Horst and Emily Scinto teach the choreography from Shrek: The Musical in "Broadway Tap"

Sometimes it gets a little crazy... :)

Caitlyn Kumpula and David McCarl demonstrate fencing techniques.

Interim chair David McCarl works with students in "Acting: Stage Combat."

Cam Pederson (left) and Billy Gleason take their concessions duties very seriously.

It was all hands on deck to make sure the 350 students coming to campus could find their way around.
George Grubb helps a student learn to juggle ... or at least learn to drop the ball less frequently. : )

The Ted Paul packed with Theater Students!

Nick Wayne and Adam Yankowy teaching "Acting the Song."
Dan Stark teaching "Dance Improv"
